About Us

Travelling with your pet should feel simple, not like solving a puzzle with missing pieces.

Airline rules change, paperwork differs from country to country, crates have strict size limits, and one small mistake can mean a delayed flight, extra fees, or a pet that cannot board at all. PetOnTour was created to bring clear, step-by-step answers into one place, so you can plan with confidence instead of piecing together conflicting advice from forums and outdated blogs.

Who We Are

PetOnTour is run by Aliraza, a pet owner based in Pakistan. After seeing how hard it was to find clear, up-to-date pet travel rules in one place, he started this site to turn those rules into practical guides for other pet owners.

We are pet lovers first and writers second. We are not a travel agency, an airline, a pet shipping company, or a veterinary clinic. We do not sell flights, crates, or transport services.

What We Cover

PetOnTour focuses on the practical side of travelling with pets:

  • Flying with pets: cabin vs. cargo, crate requirements, booking a pet on a flight, and what to expect at the airport
  • Airline pet policies: how major airlines handle pets, explained in plain language, with official policies linked wherever possible
  • Pet shipping and transport: when to use a pet shipper, how ground and air transport work, and what to ask before you book
  • International travel and documents: health certificates, vaccinations, microchips, import rules, and country-specific requirements
  • Moving with pets: relocating to a new city or country with a dog or cat, and making the move less stressful for them
  • Road trips and everyday travel: pet-friendly stays, car safety, packing checklists, and travelling with service dogs and large dogs

Our goal is not to cover every pet topic on the internet. It is to cover pet travel properly, in depth, and in a way you can actually use before your trip.

How We Research and Write

Every guide is written to be useful before you travel, not just to rank in search results. Our process is simple:

  1. We start with official sources. When a rule comes from an airline, government agency, or airport, we check that source and link to it instead of copying another blog’s summary.
  2. We explain it in plain language. Official rules are often long and hard to read, so we turn them into checklists, steps, and clear “what this means for you” summaries without changing what the rule says.
  3. We flag what changes often. Airline policies, fees, and import rules change frequently. When a guide depends on a rule that can change, we say so and update the guide when we learn of a change.
  4. We correct our mistakes openly. If you spot an error, tell us through our Contact page and we will check it and fix it.

Pet travel rules can change without notice, so always confirm the latest requirements with your airline and, for international travel, with the destination country’s official authority before you travel. A guide on this site is not a substitute for that final check.

Our Commitment on Pet Health

PetOnTour shares general travel information only. It is not veterinary advice. Health certificates, vaccinations, sedation, breed restrictions, and fitness to fly should always be discussed with your own veterinarian, who knows your pet’s age, breed, and health history.

How We Are Funded

PetOnTour is free to read. In the future, the site may earn money through advertising and, where clearly labelled, affiliate links. If you buy through an affiliate link, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Advertising and affiliate relationships never decide what we recommend, and we will never accept payment to hide a fee, drawback, or restriction that matters to travellers. Any sponsored content will be clearly labelled.

Who This Site Is For

PetOnTour is for dog and cat owners who travel, or are about to travel, by plane, car, or relocation. Whether this is your first flight with a pet or your tenth move, you should be able to find your next step here without wading through jargon.
